Cyclone Gabrielle – Important Information

By Sandra Grammer

Good afternoon,

It’s unfortunate we are writing to you so soon about our next weather event, only two weeks on from the unprecedented storms that took place in Auckland.

By now, you will have heard about Cyclone Gabrielle, which is set to hit our shores from tomorrow until next Tuesday. We understand this may be a stressful time for those of you who have already been affected by the initial weather event. Our number one priority is to keep you and your family safe. Please keep in touch with your Property Manager for any assistance you may need.

  1. At this time, please take precautionary measures to protect yourself and your belongings. Outdoor furniture and loose items could be blown off balconies, decks and other areas due to strong winds – please store these inside, store them in a safe storage area or secure them where possible. Anything that is left unsecured may become a hazard. Please stay home (if  safe to) and only travel if necessary. More useful tips can be found on the GetReady.Govt.NZ website.

Please keep an eye on notifications and updates from the Auckland Emergency Management (AEM) website, especially as the situation develops.

If you are in immediate danger throughout the storm, please contact emergency services in the first instance – either 111 if life is in danger or AEM for urgent flooding issues and assistance on 0800 22 22 00.

Please take care of yourselves as the situation develops.

Stay safe,
Ray White Taylor Rentals team
